Welcome to TALLINN

Information about TALLINN The Old Town of Tallinn has been inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List. In few places in Europe does the aura of the 14th and 15th centuries survive intact the way it does in Tallinn's Old Town, a jumble of medieval walls and turrets, needling spires and winding, cobbled streets. Nevertheless, Estonia's capital is so modern it's been dubbed 'a suburb of Helsinki'. As a developing city, Tallinn is open to change yet retains its traditions and successfully incorporates these traits in today’s living environment. Tallinn in the 21st century bridges the old and the new, with the city’s rapidly developing business district only about three minutes walk from the old town. With its strategic location, Tallinn has always been an object of interest to neighbouring countries. Tallinn is a place where Estonian, Germanic and Slavic traditions, behaviour and cultural traits blend into one. Thanks to its long history as a cultural melting pot, Tallinn has always been a meeting place for people from all over the world and will continue to be so. Times have been changing rapidly in Estonia and people here are generally used to adapting to new circumstances. Openness to new ideas is demonstrated by the swift reforms of the last decade and Estonia’s successful integration into the european union. Tallinn boasts three beaches, an olympic-standard marina and dozens of parks and promenades. The city’s many green areas enable its citizens to benefit from the friendly and natural surroundings as well as technological advances. Reasonable prices and easy access have made Tallinn a centre of entertainment that offers both classical and popular cultural events the city is packed with new shopping centres, restaurants, night clubs, and cultural and sports facilities, all offering memorable experiences. With its favourable economic environment, people come to Tallinn to realise their ambitions and much can be achieved with initiative and new ideas. This ambition makes Tallinn a leader not only in Estonia but also in the new Europe. By offering care and support to its citizens, tallinn is improving their general welfare. Social benefits, the construction of council housing, and the establishment of a municipal police force demonstrate that Tallinn is following the main values of modern Europe.
